Trust is a must when it comes to finding the best pet sitter and we want you to feel you can trust us. It is very important to us to build lasting trusting relationships. One of the most common questions we are asked when a new client contacts us is how do we trust our sitter. We understand that is earned but to ease your initial comfort we want you to know that our hiring process includes reference checks, background checks and hands on training for all of our employees. The next questions tend to focus on polices, payments, cancellations, etc... Our Services page includes a basic outline of these polices as we want to make sure everyone is on the same page. Another great resource of info and answers to popular questions and inquires can be found on our Common Questions page. Of course if you do not see an answer or have further questions please ask. We want you to feel comfortable with our services and how our company works. Additional ways we build trust with clients and our employees is we GPS track our sitters and have a long list of clients that have provided positive feedback on their experiences over the years.
Pet Care Knowledge is so important when choosing the perfect pet sitter for your pet. We are always trying to stay on top of new info and information, providing it to our sitters. Each sitters goes through our own Pet Sitter University Program as well as continued education throughout their employment. It is so important that they continue to learn the latest trends in pet care as well as keep their mind fresh on old basics. Your Dog Smiles also employees two Certified PetTech Instructors that hold classes for our sitters and the public monthly. If you are not familiar with PetTech it is a program that teaches pet first aid and CPR.
When looking for a trusting knowledgeable pet sitter the best option for you and your pets is to find one that displays a level of Professionalism. A Professional Pet Sitters should be properly insured, licensed and be a member of a recognized pet care organization. Your Dog Smiles is a member of Pet Sitters International, National Association of Professional Pet Sitters and National Capital Area Pet Sitters Network. We are insured, bonded and have a valid business license. We are proud to be Professional Pet Sitters and look forward to providing the best care possible for your pets.
What service is best for me?
We offer many services to meet the needs of our clients. You can find a list of all of our mid day dog walk services, pet sitting services, small animal care services and more on our services page. If you are unsure what service is best for you please just ask and we can help you pick or design the service that best fits you and your pets needs.
A few notes about our services:
Our 10 minute plan is a great option for those that qualify but we do want your pet to have the high standard of service and quality they deserve, so this plan is not available to everyone. 10 minute services are only available to situations where the sitter is capable of parking, entering your home, caring for your pet properly and returning to their car in the 10 minute time frame. For mid day dog walks, the dog must be under 5 months old or a senior. Pets that require medications during our visits are not eligible for the 10 minute service. 10 minute services are only available for one dog at a time. Two or more will require at least a 20 minute visit, so that your pets receive quality service.
In home pet sitting is great, but we want to make sure your dog is happy, not stressed and without anxiety. Because of this, we do not offer anything less than two-thirty minute visits or three-twenty minute visits at a minimum per day on days you are away for the full day. For clients gone over 4 days we require at least 3 visits per day, more if pet is prone to separation anxiety. Some pets may require more time and visits than others depending on needs and anxiety levels. Dog and cat doors must be locked while you are away, we just do not want something bad to happen between visits. For all pet sitting we must visit at least once a day and prefer to be the only care giver for your pet during the time you are away. We want to make sure your pets get consistent quality care throughout your absence.
